Teen Dancing

The column was about teens and the way they dance at school dances. They talked about the story in Texas, and the provacative moves the teenagers decide to at their homecoming. Parents were obviously not happy about that and the Journal wasn't that pleased either. One girl went home, because she was not having fun at her homecoming, even though she spent 400 dollars on her dress just to end up leaving.
I agree with this article because teenagers may just want to have a little fun, but it doesn't mean they have to do dirty things to have fun. If teens feel the need to express themselves in that way don't do it at the school, just do it somewhere else. The author's point of the column is to make parents and teens aware of the bad that can come out of dances (especially certain types of dances). "Because the 'sexiest child' is yet another competition for parents to engage in?". That rhetorical question makes the author's point, because parents always want the good kids, and parents reading this will think the dances really are a bad thing, because of bad kids that are there. It will make them be more protective of their children when it comes to dancing in the dark.
